श्री नारायण सिंह कुशवाह का जन्म 9 जून 1956 कोग्वालियर में हुआ। श्री परमानन्द कुशवाह के पुत्र श्री नारायण सिंह का परिवार कृषि और व्यवसाय से जुड़ा हुआ है। श्री कुशवाह भाजपा संगठन से जुड़ने के उपरांत निरंतर संगठन कार्यों से जुडे हुए हैं। आपने भाजपा पिछड़ा वर्ग प्रकोष्ठ के महामंत्री और अध्यक्ष पद पर कार्य किया और वर्तमान में भी प्रदेश मंत्री पद पर हैं। पारिवारिक पृष्ठ भूमि के कारण आपका भाजपा संगठन के साथ ही कुशवाह समाज और व्यावसायिक संगठनों और समितियों से निरंतर जुड़ाव बना रहा है। आप वर्ष 1980 से कुशवाह समाज के जिला, संभाग, प्रदेश स्तरीय पदों पर और अखिल भारतीय कुशवाह महासभा के राष्ट्रीय महामंत्री भी रहे हैं। वर्तमान में आप अखिल भारतीय कुशवाह महासंघ के राष्ट्रीय कोषाध्यक्ष हैं। 1994 से 1999 तक नगर निगम ग्वालियर में पार्षद व सभापति रहे श्री कुशवाह का सहकारी गतिविधियों से भी निरंतर लगाव रहा है। वर्तमान में आप सहकारी संस्था मर्यादित और थोक सब्जी व्यापारी संघ ग्वालियर के अध्यक्ष हैं। आप बारहवीं विधानसभा चुनाव में 17 लश्कर पश्चिम विधानसभा क्षेत्र से भाजपा के टिकिट पर निर्वाचित हुए हैं। श्री नारायण सिंह कुशवाह को 27 अगस्त 2004 को मुख्यमंत्री श्री बाबूलाल गौर के मंत्रिमंडल में राज्य मंत्री के रूप में शपथ दिलाई गई। आपको सामाजिक न्याय, पशुपालन विभाग एवं गौ संवर्धन बोर्ड का दायित्व सौंपा गया। श्री कुशवाह को 04 दिसम्बर 2005 को मुख्यमंत्री श्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान के मंत्रिमंडल में राज्यमंत्री के रूप में सम्मिलित कर वन और राजस्व राज्यमंत्री बनाया गया। श्री कुशवाह दिसंबर 2008 को सम्पन्न विधानसभा निर्वाचन में पुन: विधायक निर्वाचित हुए। उन्हें 20 दिसंबर 2008 को मुख्यमंत्री श्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान के मंत्रिमंडल में राज्यमंत्री के रूप में शामिल कर राज्यमंत्री पद की शपथ दिलाई गई।
