“Whatever Angela Saini is doing, she’s doing it right. Her attitude, style, body language and voice are so classy and feminine, yet so rock star at the same time.” Lithium Magazine, Vanessa Markov Singing from the womb, Angela picked up the guitar at 14 and started writing songs in between teaching herself Nirvana covers. In the backdrop of Calgary, AB, her Austrian mother and Indian father drove her to gigs as she began strumming her brand of pop-folk at local clubs, breaking into the local music scene before she had finished her first year of high school. Playing in pop/rock outfit Supernal that took her across the continent a few times, performing at festivals alongside bands like Evanescence and Sum 41, she garnered enough experience and road cred to move to Canada’s biggest city. Her recent band Drive Faster appeared in "Master Tracks" on AUX TV with Moe Berg and Laurence Currie at Metalworks Studio. Berg described the process as a “homerun” and during the episode says, “The vocalist is just so outstanding. You almost get a rush when you are recording someone like that.” With a notebook full of songs and frequent gigging as an acoustic solo artist, Angela decided to take her songs electric and got the attention of Johnny Fay, drummer for The Tragically Hip. Demo sessions together resulted in pre-production for a solo record. Runner-up for “Best Female Artist” in the 2010 International Acoustic Music Awards for her song Nurse Me Back to Health (Dear Diary), the debut EP "Cake and Callouses" was released April 2012
Antara Mali

Antara Mali has come a long way from the bordering-on-plump girl of Mast to the bold and spunky heroine of Road. Her dad is the renowned commercial photographer Jagdish Mali and her mother is a theatre actress. Her grandfather, Shantanu Mali was a painter. With a legacy like this, it was only natural that Antara Mali would take to the arts, though it was films that interested her. But it has been a roller-coaster ride for Antara till now who made her debut in a low-budget film called Dhoondte Reh Jaonge, which went unnoticed. To Antara's dismay, her second film Dum Dum Diga Diga was shelved half-way through. Her next break came with a Telugu film, Prem Katha directed by Ramgopal Verma, who later ensured her a slot in her first hindi film Mast. After this, she became a staple feature in Ram Gopal Varma’s movies, the next one being Company in which she played a complex and a deep character. Antara has loads of talent, and there can be no greater personality than Amitabh to testify. He was so impressed by her performance in 'Company' that he called her personally, and congratulated her. Her next release was the offbeat Road, which saw her transformation into a sizzling, bold and sexy Antara, with an enviably perfect figure to drool over. How did Antara manage the transition, considering bread and potatoes are her favourite foods? “Yoga,” she says, simply. Antara is most famous for her role of Madhuri in 'Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon' which was her way of paying a tribute to the legendary actress Madhuri Dixit who remained Antara’s icon for years. From pomfrets and shrimps to a vegetarian, Antara loves typical Maharashtrian food, vada pav being her favourite. “But dessert is a must”, says the spice girl with a sweet tooth who loves chocolate mousse and cheesecake. Mature beyond her years, spontaneous and sensitive, it's difficult to ignore Antara. Her latest release ‘Gayab’ saw her looking hot in her skimpy outfits giving other bold babes a run for their money. With the projects pouring in, Antara Mali will be seen in a mix of meaningful and entertaining films, including Anurag Kashyap’s Gulaal and soon to be released Naach with Abhishek Bachchan. Eventually, she plans to move into film direction. The lissome lasso is much more than you see. Inside the good girl, who sports an 'Om' tattoo on her arm, resides a naughty nymphet, who also sports a devil tattoo on her curvaceous body. Where? Keep guessing!
